Covid-19 Vaccine Requirements at MHCO

At MHCO, while we have been working to adhere to the recent COVID-19 vaccination requirement issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), our stance, even before the CMS mandate, has always been to educate about and encourage vaccination. As healthcare professionals, we believe that getting the COVID-19 vaccination is the best defense and the most effective way to protect our patients and our care partners.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), has mandated that MHCO must abide by the recent directive that requires COVID-19 vaccinations for healthcare workers.

MHCO new hires with a hire date prior to February 14, 2022, must have received the first dose of a two-shot series (Moderna or Pfizer) or a single dose of a one-shot vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) by February 14, 2022, and a second dose of a two-shot series by March 15, 2022.  All MHCO new hires with a hire date after March 15, 2022, must be fully vaccinated.  Please note that COVID-19 booster shots are currently not required as part of this directive.

If you are unable or choose not to receive the vaccine, you will have an opportunity to request a medical or religious exemption.  For additional information, please submit inquiries to mshultz@mhcoliving.org.
